The Perseus ALMA Chemistry Survey (PEACHES). I. The Complex Organic Molecules in Perseus Embedded Protostars

Abstract To date, about two dozen low-mass embedded protostars exhibit rich spectra with lines of complex organic molecules (COMs). These seem to possess a different enrichment in COMs. However, the statistics COM abundance are limited by scarcity observations. This study introduces Perseus ALMA Chemistry Survey (PEACHES), which aims at unbiasedly characterizing chemistry COMs toward (Class 0/I) molecular cloud. Of 50 surveyed, 58% them have emission from 56%, 32%, and 40% CH 3 OH, OCHO, N-bearing COMs, respectively. The detectability depends neither on averaged continuum brightness temperature, proxy H 2 column density, nor bolometric luminosity temperature. For detected OH has tight correlation CN, spanning more than orders magnitude densities normalized suggesting chemical relation between CN large diversity PEACHES samples same time. A similar trend scatter is also found all identified hints common for sources insensitive protostellar properties, such as larger (CH OCHO OCH ) relative that smaller CN) increases inferred gas hinting an efficient production species denser envelopes.
